The Woodland Creek Memorial Day 5K serves not only as a fundraiser or a mission-driven awareness campaign, but as a meaningful commitment to our military community and the greater Montgomery region. Held in Pike Road, AL in observance of Memorial Day, the race honors those who have served while bringing the community together for remembrance and celebration.
Through participation and support, the 5K helps advance River Region Trails’ work while reinforcing the importance of connection—between people, places, and the communities that shape our region.
Sarah Cole
Sarah founded the Woodland Creek Memorial Day 5K in 2022 and, with an interest in growing regional trail networks, selected River Region Trails as the event’s beneficiary. A Pike Road resident and member of a military family, Sarah has since become deeply involved in River Region Trails’ work, joining the Board of Directors and now serving as Vice President. Her leadership reflects a strong commitment to honoring service while strengthening our regions trail network and public spaces.
